A South Asian’s guide to surviving in Ireland.

Moving to a new city or a country is a big decision which comes with many tough situations and unnecessary expenses sometimes. If a person moving to a new place is unaware of how prices work in stores or how transport works, then it could be a really expensive couple of weeks initially. I prefer using the power of Google as much as possible before moving.

I moved to The Republic of Ireland in October 2021 and five months later, I am sharing all the tips and secrets that could have helped me if I knew earlier. Please note that I do not currently reside in Dublin city but Letterkenny Town, in County Donegal, which is considered the cheapest in living terms. Grocery Bags
All big supermart chains sell eco-friendly bags instead of giving free polythene bags. This is to reduce the use of plastic and promote reusability among customers. Prefer buying bags made of cloth or similar material beforehand and each trip you will be saving between €0.70 and €1.5 on each bag you had to buy if you didn’t have your reusable bag…
